I’m the Community Programmes Manager and joined the St Lucan team in 2014. After many years in the tertiary education sector. I feel thoroughly at home with my colleagues and happily settled into this very busy, vibrant, social, fearless and at times outrageous community. At the Community Centre everyone is assured of a warm welcome, good conversation, good coffee and hospitality.
I’m here for 26 hours a week and my primary role is to develop, organise, promote and deliver the annual programme of events. That takes up most of my time but I also love my work out-of -the office meeting and working with the churches on the ridge, and the local community, developing working relationships and extending our reach. I love that every day we welcome a steady stream of wonderfully diverse people who turn up here for regular courses, meetings and seminars.
Outside of St Luke’s I’m a single mum to two adult daughters and Granny to Salvador (8) in Auckland and Bella (6), Johnny (3) and Charlie (6 months) in Wellington. As a relatively new Aucklander I’m still exploring this beautiful city; around every corner is another beautiful water view. I live out west and love my diverse community at Te Atatu Peninsula. My weekend pleasures are spending time with family, having friends to stay, lots of walking, dining out, having friends to eat, being an Anglican, enjoying concerts, good movies and being draped on the sofa with a great book. I also fly regularly and frequently to my Wellington family, and to Christchurch my home town.
