I have now been at St Luke’s for 21 very happy years having joined in February 2000. I’m married to Mike with 2 adult daughters – one who is currently living in Dubai, and one in Auckland, and now have 4 gorgeous little granddaughters and 2 grandsons.
Before I joined the St Luke’s team, I considered myself a lapsed St Lucan having not crossed its threshold since I was dragged kicking and screaming to Bible Class in the early 70’s. However, having survived an interview with Geoff Olliff (no mean feat), I very quickly settled into my role here.
My main duties are reception and hospitality, accounts, room bookings and providing admin support for anyone who needs it. I have also set up the St Luke’s Knitwits, a weekly craft group.
From initially being concerned that there wouldn’t be many people around, I now enjoy chatting to the community users and to regular St Lucans who pop in from time to time. St Luke’s has always been a warm and welcoming place for me and I think of it as a ‘good place to be’ and that working here is ‘good for the soul’. Wonderful people in a wonderful caring environment.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family, keeping fit and on a couch-potato day, I can be found at home curled up with a cryptic crossword, a sudoku, or with my knitting and sewing.
