The Community Centre has a warm and comfortable Common Room where all groups and individuals can enjoy their tea and coffee, or eat their food. The Common Room incorporates a kitchen with a permanent supply of boiling water, an electric oven, gas hob, microwave oven, and a varied assortment of crockery, glasses and cutlery, and a commercial-grade sterilliser. Normally, the Common Room is not available for hire.
The Common Room opens onto a sheltered garden courtyard with water feature and outdoor seating, and on the other side opens on to a small internal courtyard with outdoor seating.
We offer a complimentary TV monitor, DVD player, portable data projector, and whiteboard (including an electronic whiteboard). The TV monitor, DVD player, and electronic whiteboard need to be booked in advance. The Church auditorium, and the Lounge Room & Courtyard Rooms have complimentary AV systems installed. We also have a portable data projector for use in other areas which needs to be booked in advance.
An upright piano is available in the activities room, and a small grand piano (available for a donation to the owners) in the church.
Availability
Casual evening and weekend bookings are welcome, as are casual and regular weekday bookings. Usually there is more daytime and evening availability during school holidays.
Restrictions
Resource consent conditions allow only church-related functions after 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and after 10pm on weeknights.
Parking
Is available on site (depending on other use at the time) for 38 vehicles.
Disability
There is one disability carpark, with provision for others to be made available on request. The complex is all on one level.
Catering
We do not provide catering ourselves, but from experience can recommend a number of caterers familiar with our premises.
